SignIndustry.com recently published an article suggesting that every sign shop should, if you do not already, offer a modular sign system. Due to the fact that you are bound to have requests for “custom”signs or way finding solution it is best to be ahead of the game and have a go to manufacturer.
I could not agree more, however, which system is the right one for you to carry? The article breaks this process in to detail, I have highlighted some talking points.
1. Design: Look for something modern
2. Quality of materials: Request the specifications of the materials, the ability to withstand any elements if necessary. Check to see how much if any investments your shop will have to make to support this system. Also inquire about the flexibility, the more flexible the system is it will be more accommodating to you and your customer.
3. Simplicity: Choose something simple to assemble and install
4. Service and support: Check the service standards from your vendor so that they don’t get passed to your customer
5. Price: Shop around, see what you are getting for each price. Make sure the quality and service are there. Additionally, often times if the price seems too low there can be hidden fees down the road.
Be happy with what you choose and your customers will see it!
