Upon his death in May of 1998, Las Vegas dimmed its Strip lights in honor of Frank Sinatra. Ole Blue Eyes was a Las Vegas fixture for 43 years, from his first gig in September 1951 until May 1994. He first worked the glorified motel that was the Desert Inn and last performed at the 5,000-room MGM Grand.
